The highly anticipated fifth season of Emily in Paris is officially on the way following its renewal by Netflix in September 2024, shortly after the release of the fourth season.
The upcoming season will continue Emily’s adventures abroad, this time adding Rome to her escapades. After season 4’s dramatic conclusion, where Emily moved to Rome to launch Agence Grateau’s new office and pursue a relationship with Marcello, season 5 is set to explore her career and love life in the Italian capital.
Characters
Emily Cooper (Lily Collins): The protagonist, an ambitious and optimistic marketing executive with a passion for Parisian life.
Gabriel (Lucas Bravo): Emily’s charming neighbor and love interest, a chef with dreams of opening his own restaurant.
Sylvie Grateau (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu): Emily’s tough boss who is skeptical of her American approach to business.
Mindy Chen (Ashley Park): Emily’s best friend in Paris, a talented singer with her own dreams and challenges.
Camille (Camille Razat): Gabriel’s girlfriend and Emily’s friend who becomes entangled in Emily’s romantic life.
However, creator Darren Star has assured fans that Paris will still play a significant role, keeping the show’s iconic French charm alive even as new settings are introduced. Season 5 is expected to maintain its 10-episode format, with production likely beginning in 2025. While there isn’t an official release date yet, it’s speculated that the new season could premiere in late 2025.
The storyline will continue to delve into Emily’s evolving relationships, especially with Marcello and Gabriel, who may try to win her back. Additionally, the show will feature the familiar faces of the Agence Grateau team, though some characters like Camille may have a reduced presence
